Why you may need a VPN to access Twitch

Using a VPN is generally a good idea if you are browsing the internet. There have been numerous reports of governments as well as private hacker groups spying on users. You should be using a VPN anyway, but it is absolutely necessary for some people trying to access Twitch.

If you have any of the below problems, then you can take a look at some of the VPNs that we recommend for Twitch. They will fix your issues and ensure that you have an extremely smooth streaming experience.

Here are some of the problems that a Twitch VPN will solve for you.

Best VPNs for Twitch | Watch and stream freely!

This is the reason why many people will want to get a VPN. In many places, people cannot use Twitch. One good example of this country is China, which has a Great Firewall that bans a lot of websites along with Twitch.

A VPN can circumvent all of these blocks by route all of your traffic through a remote server. This way, the Twitch server will see that you are connected from the location of the VPN server as opposed to where you are actually connecting from.

Twitch IP bans

Whether your IP got banned by mistake or because you’ve violated Twitch’s terms of service, you will not be able to access Twitch until you change your IP.

Changing your IP can be a difficult task. A much easier solution is to use a VPN. When you connect to the server using a VPN, your IP will be masked by the IP of the VPN server that you are using.

This same method will also unblock any network bans that you have.

Connection throttling

When you are connected to Twitch (or any other streaming platform for that matter), there is a chance that your ISP will throttle your connection so as to ease the load on their network.

This is because your ISP can easily take a look at your internet traffic and see whether you are using a service that may have an adverse impact on their server loads. Once their automated system detects you are streaming content, they can easily start reducing your connection speed to make sure that you are unable to stream content in high quality.

A VPN will make sure that your ISP cannot find out what activity you are using the connection for. This will make sure that your connection is not throttled in any way.

Using a VPN is a very good idea when it comes to Twitch. It is up to you whether you want to go for the highest quality and pay the price or pay less and have limited features. Once you have a VPN, it is very easy for you to avoid IP bans, move around geo-blocking or censorship, and stream without hampering the speed of your connection.

ExpressVPN and NordVPN would still be the best two that would eliminate most of the problems related to VPN or probably fulfill more VPN-related needs

  2. Smile

While Surfshark might seem good at $1.99, for just $2.99 (on a 3 year deal) you could get NordVPN which is so much better. There’s just no comparison between the two when it comes to anything, Twitch, Netflix, Kodi, torrenting, you name it.

Incredible! Talk about learning a lot from one article. I’ve heard of ISP’s throttling user speeds but I didn’t know they cut you short if you try to stream. Those jerks. I’m glad I’m using a VPN. I purchased ExpressVPN for protecting my privacy, but didn’t know there were related benefits like keeping the ISP from looking if I’m streaming or not.
