The Mandalorian premiered on Disney’s streaming platform – Disney+ – on November 12, 2019. It is based on Star Wars, a cult space opera franchise that needs no introduction. The Star Wars universe has continued to expand in the form of films, books, computer games, and here we have a highly-anticipated live-action TV series.

The platform gives access to movies and TV shows released by the Walt Disney company. The Mandalorian is one of the series you can watch on Disney Plus. However, Disney+ is only available to subscribers in a few select countries.

Eventually, more countries will join this shortlist of lucky ones, but there is another way if you’re based somewhere else. Using the right VPN (Virtual Private Network), you can stream The Mandalorian in 2021 from wherever you are in the world.

How much does Disney+ cost?

The standalone Disney+ subscription costs $7.99 per month. Meanwhile, the annual subscription is around 15% cheaper and adds up to $79.99 per year. However, the price may vary depending on your location. For example, a subscription costs £7.99/month or £79.90 per year in the UK. That means that you could even use a VPN to get a better deal on a subscription.

While Disney Plus focuses on family entertainment, you can expand the content by purchasing a bundle including ESPN+ and Hulu. The bundle differs in cost whether you want Hulu to be ad-supported or ad-free. The ad-supported version costs $13.99/month, while the ad-free version is $19.99/month.

Disney+ hosts many TV shows and films from Pixar, Marvel Studios, LucasFilm, 20th Century Fox, Walt Disney Pictures, and many more. For example, you will find the latest Marvel TV shows, such as Loki, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and WandaVision. Plus, various animated movies are available there, such as Moana, Toy Story 4, Raya and The Last Dragon, Luca, Soul, and much more.

And of course, there’s no shortage of Star Wars content. Thus, by subscribing to Disney+ and getting a VPN, you’ll get to watch The Mandalorian – it’s as simple as that.

Why do you need a VPN to watch The Mandalorian?

Disney Plus restricted message

When Disney+ first joined the streaming scene in 2019, it was geographically restricted to the United States, the Netherlands, and Canada. Since then, it has expanded its reach to over 50 countries worldwide. However, that still leaves plenty of us without access to our favorite Disney classics.

Furthermore, the movies and TV shows that are available in each region differ slightly. This discrepancy is because of distribution and copyright restrictions. So even if you live in a country where Disney+ is available, some content might still be unavailable to you.

Unless, of course, you get yourself a worthwhile VPN provider. With it, you can gain access to any movie or TV show that’s available on the streaming service.

And if you’re in a region where Disney+ is unavailable, a VPN is essential if you want to watch The Mandalorian.

Overview of The Mandalorian

The Mandalorian was premiered with the release of the Disney+ streaming service on November 12th, 2019. It was a huge success and was well-received by fans and critics alike. Naturally, it also received a fair share of nominations and awards.

Unsurprisingly, a second season followed up and was released on October 30th, 2020. According to Rotten Tomatoes, this season was even more enjoyable than the first one, and The Mandalorian became an essential part of the Star Wars saga.

Both seasons have eight episodes each and are primarily written by Jon Favreau, while the directors’ seat was occupied by a wide range of well-known names, such as Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, Carl Weathers, and others.

Following the success of The Mandalorian, several spin-offs have been announced that would focus on other characters from the series. Plus, the titular character may appear in future Star Wars films.

In any case, fans are eagerly awaiting the show’s third season, which is already in production and should be released in the spring of 2022.

Conclusion

While the country coverage of Disney+ is getting better, it’s still not worldwide and leaves many fans strapped for access to The Mandalorian. And since Disney’s intellectual properties are unlikely to end up on other streaming platforms, viewers are left with very few options.

Thankfully, a VPN can quickly fix this problem and allow you to circumvent whatever geographical restrictions are in place. Just remember to pick a VPN that’s well-known for speed, effectiveness and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.

Thanks for including the minimum price per month, Nica. That’s very helpful when you’re on a budget like me but still want to see this show. Anything Star Wars, sign me up :)!

How can I watch the Mandalorian without having to get Disney+? I mean, I’m not really interested in the other shows they have so not keen on paying 6.99 monthly just for 1 show. Any ideas?

    1. Oro

My suggestion is this: go with either NordVPN or CyberGhost and then go with torrents and download the episodes. Do NOT use free VPNs or no VPN when torrenting! This is not a good idea. But with a good VPN like the ones I mentioned you’ll be all set for Mandalorian and other shows as well.

Does anyone know: will the Mandalorian be on Netflix? I don’t really want to subscribe to Disney+ just for this show, although I do want to see it, bad.
