VPNSecure vs VPN Unlimited in 2025

VPNSecure vs VPN Unlimited

When a market is oversaturated but all you see and hear are the same old names of the most popular providers, it might be a good idea to zoom out and look at the lesser-known alternatives. Who knows – you might unearth some hidden gems in that market. Or you might realize just how good the top providers really are.

In any case, we invite you to have a look at VPNSecure vs VPN Unlimited. There is no mistaking what these services are about as they have the VPN (Virtual Private Network) acronym in their names. But providing a good service is more than just slapping some acronym in front and calling it a day.

This is why we’ll have a look at these two side-by-side to scrutinize them and see which one offers the best speed, privacy, security features, compatibility, and much more. Let’s see what these providers have to offer.

VPNSecure vs VPN Unlimited: specifications

VPN Unlimited offers over 3000 servers in 55+ countries and also uses WireGuard. But this VPN provider also comes with its unique KeepSolid Wise protocol. On top of that, you can even benefit from a lifetime VPN plan.

On the other hand, VPNsecure has a very small server fleet. It has only 80+ servers across 48+ countries. Also, it utilizes OpenVPN and PPTP protocols that aren’t the strongest. However, there is another drawback. VPNsecure is part of a 14-Eyes Alliance country.

After carefully comparing both VPNs, we decided that VPN Unlimited is the clear winner. So, let’s get into more detail!

VPNSecure vs VPN Unlimited: pricing

Plans and payments VPNSecure VPN Unlimited
Free trial 7-day (requires iOS and Android) Yes, 7-day
One month $9.95/month $9.99/month
One Year $6.66/month $5.00/month
Three Years $2.99/month
Lifetime $199.99/month
Money-back guarantee 7 days 30 days
Payment options Credit cards, PayPal, CashU, Payza, Paymentwall, Bitcoin Credit cards, PayPal, BitPay, Mint

If you want an affordable VPN journey, then the winner in this round is VPNSecure. So, let’s have a look at both VPN plans.

VPNSecure pricing

VPNsecure has a 30-day trial that isn’t entirely free. It costs $1. Also, it comes with a 7-day money-back guarantee and three paid plans:

  • $9.95/month monthly
  • $6.66/month annually
  • $2.99/month for three years

You need to pay with your credit card, PayPal, and cryptocurrencies to install this VPN. Also, you’ll get the chance to make anonymous payments.

VPN Unlimited pricing

Compared to it, VPN Unlimited also has a 7-day trial, but it’s free. On top of that, it offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. Unfortunately, this may not be the most affordable VPN. Let’s see why:

  • $9.99/month monthly
  • $5.00/month annually
  • $199.99/month for the lifetime plan

Regarding payment, this provider works with credit cards, PayPal, Bitpay, and Mint. As a result of accepting cryptocurrencies, you can enjoy total anonymity.

Speed comparison

The second important aspect is the VPN’s speed. After comparing everything that contributes to the rates, we discovered that VPN Unlimited is the winner.

VPNSecure has pretty slow speeds and inconsistent connections because of its 80+ servers in 48+ countries. Additionally, it utilizes only OpenVPN and PPTP protocols, leaving it far behind in the dust.

On the contrary, VPN Unlimited has 3000+ servers across 55+ countries, giving it a head advantage. Also, it comes with a unique KeepSolid Wise protocol and WireGuard, too. Due to this, its speeds are faster than VPNSecure’s, and its connections are more reliable.

VPNSecure vs VPN Unlimited: which is more secure?

VPNSecure VPN Unlimited
Encryption AES-256 AES-256
Jurisdiction Australia US
Logging No-logs No-logs
Kill switch

Yes

Yes

Leak protection DNS, IPv6 DNS, IPv6, WebRTC
RAM servers No No

When it comes to security, it’s a tie. Both services aren’t the best choice in terms of security because of their jurisdictions and lack of any action to prove they are trustworthy. But before we go more in-depth, let’s check out their similarities:

  • AES-256 encryption
  • Kill switch
  • IP and DNS leak protection

Privacy

VPNSecure is located in Australia. Unfortunately, this is a drawback as the country is part of the 14-Eyes Alliance. Therefore, your online activities may be monitored, collected, and shared with the government. In comparison, VPN Unlimited works from the USA, which is part of the 5-Eyes Alliance, making it even worse.

The thing that irked us the most is that neither try to mitigate this. You could run your fleet solely on RAM modules, which would make data logging impossible, but they don’t. Even having an audited no-logs policy would improve our trust, but there’s no independent audits to speak of.

Logging

In order to ensure data safety, both VPNs come with no-logs policies. But while they claim that they don’t collect any personal data, there’s no proof of that. Neither competitor has undergone an audit to prove their trustworthiness.

Servers location

Server specification VPNSecure VPN Unlimited
Servers 80+ 3000+
Countries 48+ 55+
Physical servers No No
Owns all servers No No

In this round of our VPN Unlimited vs. VPNsecure comparison, VPN Unlimited is the clear winner.

VPN Unlimited has a fleet of over 3000 servers in 55+ locations around the world. While less than the offerings of the market leaders, it does facilitate decent speeds in many locations.

VPNSecure, on the other hand, offers just 80 servers in 48 countries. Speeds are generally OK but below average in most cases and abysmal at times. The server fleet is very minimal and can quickly lead to network congestion issues on the VPN’s side.

Features comparison

Features VPNSecure VPN Unlimited
Smart DNS Yes ✅KeepSolid SmartDNS (costs extra)
Ad & malware blocker Yes ✅DNS Firewall (costs extra)
Split tunneling No ✅Yes (Android)
Specialized servers No ✅Yes

You need a VPN with various features to have an even better online experience. Luckily, VPN Unlimited can fulfill your needs. In the meanwhile, VPNSecure doesn’t offer much feature-wise.

Smart DNS

The Smart DNS feature allows you to connect your VPN on any device, even on those that don’t support VPNs. It’s especially useful for bypassing geo-blocks on streaming peripherals that usually lack native VPN support.

Both VPNSecure and VPN Unlimited come with such a feature, so you have nothing to worry about. However, VPN Unlimited’s feature costs extra.

Ad & malware blocker

An ad & malware blocker is another extra you should search for. This feature prevents malicious ads and links from causing data breaches by blocking them.

The best part is that you can choose whichever VPN appeals to you more, as they both offer ad & malware blockers. As a result, you’ll get a risk-free journey. But again, VPN Unlimited’s costs extra.

Split tunneling

Another essential feature that is welcomed is split tunneling. It allows you to route the VPN connection through a particular app, excluding the rest of the applications from the secure tunnel. However, VPN Unlimited is the only VPN that has split tunneling. And it’s limited to Android.

Obfuscated servers

Suppose you want to bypass online censorship. In that case, you need a VPN that will hide you’re even using it. Nowadays, there is such a feature called obfuscation. Thanks to it, your VPN usage remains hidden, and DPI won’t be able to block access to particular websites and platforms. Fortunately, you will benefit from obfuscated servers with both VPNSecure and VPN Unlimited.

Specialized servers

VPN Unlimited additionally offers servers for streaming, which provide better performance whenever you’re watching videos. Then there’s torrenting servers – these are the only ones you can use to share files via P2P.

Other features

As for other perks, VPN Unlimited comes with a SOCKS5 proxy at no additional cost.

Netflix and streaming comparison

Streaming platforms VPNSecure VPN Unlimited
Netflix US ❌No ✅Yes
Other Netflix libraries ❌No ❌No
Amazon Prime Video ❌No ✅Yes
Hulu ❌No ✅Yes
HBO Max ❌No ✅Yes
Disney+ ❌No ✅Yes
BBC iPlayer ❌No ✅Yes
YouTube TV ❌No ✅Yes

If you want a VPN solution to enable you to watch Netflix, VPNSecure isn’t really a great choice. In fact, they announced that they will no longer support unblocking Netflix. Thus, if streaming and getting around geo-restrictions is a priority for you, you’d be wise to pick a better-suited VPN.

VPN Unlimited does work with Netflix US, although it has issues unblocking other regional libraries. The speeds are good enough for HD streaming and you can also access BBC iPlayer and Hulu through their designated servers. Furthermore, it unblocks various other streaming services as well.

Device compatibility

Device support VPNSecure VPN Unlimited
Major dedicated apps Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS
Other dedicated apps Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Roku, Kodi
Browser extensions Chrome Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Opera
Manual setup Routers Routers, NAS
Simultaneous devices 5 5

VPNSecure offers their customers simple interfaces for Windows, Mac OS, Linux, iOS, and Android. These apps are very easy to install and set up. They also offer a Chrome extension but lack support for Edge, Firefox, and Opera.

VPN Unlimited is also very easy to use and has a nice interface. It is available on virtually every major platform including Windows Phone, and Apple TV. It also has browser extensions for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Opera. If ease of use is a major concern for you, both services are great. VPN Unlimited, however, is available on more platforms and, thus, wins this round.

Desktop applications

Regarding desktop apps, both VPNs come with Windows and macOS, and Linux apps. The competitors take a minimalist approach to design, making them easy to navigate.

vpnsecure settings

VPNSecure’s desktop clients look a bit outdated and come with some quirks. For instance, you can’t turn off the app without disconnecting from the server. However, there’s no disconnect button.

VPN Unlimited macOS app

VPN Unlimited can’t escape our critical gaze, either, since the apps are simply underwhelming. There’s nothing to write home about in terms of features.

Mobile applications

If you want to install the VPN on your mobile app, you can freely choose both VPN Unlimited and VPNsecure. They both have apps for all Android and iOS devices.

VPNsecure-android-connection-screen

VPNSecure somehow manages to make their mobile apps look worse. And the functionality remains the same as with the desktop clients.

VPN Unlimited Android app

VPN Unlimited at least mustered their wits to put split tunneling on the Android app. Apart from that, the applications are nothing special.

Torrenting

P2P support VPNSecure VPN Unlimited
Allowed on ✅All servers ✅Select torrenting servers
Free SOCKS5 proxy ❌No ✅Yes
Split tunneling ❌No ✅Yes (Android only)

If you need a VPN for torrenting, then we recommend going for VPN Unlimited. Although VPNSecure allows torrenting on the whole network, it doesn’t offer any P2P-oriented perks.

It makes VPN Unlimited’s select torrenting servers not that bad since only they offer split tunneling and a SOCKS5 proxy that further secures your torrenting connections. On top of that, VPN Unlimited has faster download and upload rates, which are crucial for a seamless torrenting experience.

China

Specifications VPNSecure VPN Unlimited
Works in China ✅Yes ✅Yes
Stealth VPN ✅Yes ✅Yes (KeepSolid Wise)
Tor over VPN ❌No ❌No

As for use in China, both services do offer obfuscation features in the form of Stealth VPN and KeepSolid Wise for VPNSecure and VPN Unlimited respectively. Thus, both options can be used in China and other censored locations. However, they cannot be regarded as the best options for this task you’d be better off with a more viable alternative.

Customer support

Support options VPNSecure VPN Unlimited
24/7 live chat ❌No ✅Yes
Phone line ❌No ❌No
Email ✅Yes ✅Yes
Knowledgebase ✅Yes ✅Yes

When it comes to customer support, VPN Unlimited performs better.

VPNSecure essentially comes with a comprehensive library of self-help content and email ticketing. The support representatives respond to queries sent through support tickets, though not as quickly as is advertised on their support page. VPN Unlimited, on the other hand, offers 24/7 email and live chat support options. They also have decent self-help content.

Sure VPN Unlimited is the better of the two, but when you compare it with ExpressVPN for example, it doesn’t stand a chance. I would rather pay a bit more and get the best out of a VPN.

I feel both are bad to be honest. If you have to pay for a VPN you might as well pay for a good one like ExpressVPN or Astrill, or even NordVPN that’s really affordable. But those two don’t seem like serious contenders.

I’d recommend anyone looking to get a VPN to read this blog because it explains the basics of what to look for in a virtual private network. Myself, I wouldn’t get either one of these due to the speed and privacy issues (there are much better VPN’s for both). That’s me. A person should check things out on their own when it comes to VPN’s. It’s a very particular need that depends on the user.
