If you’re looking for an effective method to bypass Sky Broadband Shield quickly and safely, we’ve got the solution you need.

Sky Broadband Shield features safe search filters that block explicit content from search engine results helping protect your children from inappropriate material. However, if you are an adult wanting to access a range of content without restrictions, they can be overreaching.

The blocks don’t just stop at the apparent adult content but also apply to innocent content such as online games and social networks.

If you want to bypass Sky Broadband Shield, the best method is to use a VPN (Virtual Private Network).

In this guide, we are going to show you the best way to bypass Sky Broadband Shield, including selecting a strong VPN such as NordVPN, so you can enjoy unrestricted internet access.

Bypass the Sky Broadband Shield using a VPN

Sky Broadband Shield is enabled by default and Sky doesn’t provide a reliable way to turn off the service. Fortunately, with a VPN you can easily bypass the censorship.

A VPN gives you a new IP that is unaffected by the imposed restrictions by your ISP which means that all your online activities will be as if you’re not using Sky Broadband Shield at all.

Setting up a VPN is quite easy, and the process can be completed in a matter of minutes. First of all, you’ll need to select a VPN provider. This should be an easy enough task as we constantly update our top lists to inform you which VPN providers are the best.

Before you can do anything else, you will need to download the app for your device. Most VPN providers offer apps for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android.

After you’ve downloaded and installed the app, you will need to create an account. Enter your login details and select your preferred subscription plan.

Choose a VPN server from the list of servers and press “Connect.” Your data will be encrypted and tunneled through the VPN server you’ve selected. Feel free to pick any server in the UK.

Once the VPN connection is up and running, everything you do online will be routed through ISPs other than Sky Broadband which means that you’ll be able to access sites that were previously blocked as well as any other content on the internet.

Step by step: Bypass the Sky Broadband Shield
  1. Get a VPN subscription
  2. Download and install the app
  3. Login using your credentials
  4. Connect to a VPN server
  5. Enjoy unrestricted access

I had to turn off sky broadband shield yesterday because it was driving me insane. It does protect the kids but I can’t see anything because it blocks everything! A friend said I could use a VPN so then I started searching for one. Then I wondered: does sky broadband block vpn? I read of sky slowing down vpn but from what you said if I use ExpressVPN I will be in the clear, no? I don’t want to completely disable Sky Broadband Shield so maybe a vpn will work.

      Hey there Albert,

Yup, you should be in the clear if you’re using ExpressVPN — our top-recommended VPN. You can get more information about how to use it here in our full ExpressVPN review.

      Thanks for reading!

sky broadand doesnt work when expressvpn is loaded. it blocks the internet connection and when you turn expressvpn off you can access again – except for the expressvpn website which is blocks access to!

I think Sky makes it simple to turn off the shield again; as soon as you visit a website that is blocked, the account holder will be invited to amend the controls or switch Sky Broadband Shield off altogether. I do not know if these have changed or the need for a VPN?

Having both PG 13 and 18 capability is definitely a good feature for Sky broadband shield. One can freely work with this option when kids are present at home and keep them safe actually.

I was actually curious about this. My kids have gotten to the age where literally everything needs a childblock, and I have to check sites like this for every single piece of software I buy. The things they learn in schools these days, you wouldn’t believe! Some of those kids are learning things at home they really shouldn’t.

I like to let them play on the computer sometimes, but with the internet the way it is you never know! This makes me feel a bit safer.

This is incredible! I started reading this post with an intent to personally benefit myself but the situation is taking a different turn.
Honestly, it’s fabulous to stumble on this information. Now I can restrict and filter content in the interest of my kids
