NordVPN has just announced a new product named NordVPN Teams, a VPN solution for businesses, freelancers, and teams. Together with NordLocker and NordPass, this will be the company’s third new security solution this year, making NordVPN one of the busiest VPN firms in 2019.

Why NordVPN Teams was created

According to NordVPN’s CMO Marty P. Kamden, the original NordVPN was designed for personal use. Gradually, the growing number of business clients dictated a need for a new service created specifically to address their needs. There are almost 15,000 SMBs, NGOs, and remote teams already using NordVPN that would immediately benefit from switching to NordVPN Teams.

This new business VPN solution will let users access company resources remotely, work safely using public wifi, assign dedicated gateways and more, all while staying protected with military-grade encryption.

Some may think that NordVPN Teams follows the path of an old-school business VPN which simply gives remote access to company resources. That’s not the case. NordVPN Teams encrypts all traffic of a particular device, meaning there’s less room for security breaches.

Features

NordVPN Teams blends some the best features of its B2C version with new solutions tailored to cater to the needs of today’s businesses.

Security and privacy

NordVPN is known as an excellent tool for privacy and anonymity. NordVPN Teams aims to stay in the same vein, guaranteeing no-logs policy, and requiring no company details at the point of purchase.

Just like the current service, NordVPN Teams will benefit from the same features that made NordVPN arguably the most secure VPN solution on the market. Those include 256-bit military-grade encryption, a Kill Switch, CyberSec, automatic connection on wifi networks, and 24/7 customer support with a dedicated manager to address your needs personally.

Also, this product offers privacy regulation compliance, which means your traffic will adhere to GDPR and HIPPA regulations.

Servers and speed

NordVPN Teams will also offer dedicated high-speed business servers, enabling teams to use static IPs for secure access to the company’s data and geo-blocked online services.

With 5,700+ servers in 60 countries at hand, NordVPN Teams is ready to meet the needs of global businesses spread across different continents. As the owner of the largest server fleet in the VPN industry, this business security solution can make sound promises of reliable speeds, no matter where your company is located.

Due to its ability to avoid geo-blocking and change your IP to any of 60 countries available, this security solution seems to be a worthwhile consideration for monitoring international ad campaigns. Even more, it will allow bypassing internet censorship, the Great Firewall included.

Ease of use

More often than not a word “business IT solution” means the software will be cumbersome and far from user-friendly. That’s not the case with NordVPN Teams as it inherits the lightweight design of NordVPN. Therefore you can be sure that users will have no trouble downloading, installing, and using the service on whichever platform, be it Windows, macOS, Android, or iOS.

Businesses will be able to manage team members, their permissions and default servers easily using a unified Control panel, one of the key features that distinguish NordVPN Teams from its B2C predecessor. But while being different, it will retain the best qualities of NordVPN.

It also considers another issue, which is license transferability. Personnel changes can cause a mess when removing and assigning licenses across the accounts. This doesn’t seem to be an issue for NordVPN Teams users.

Pricing and plans

From the financial standpoint, managing a NordVPN Teams account will be much easier due to centralized billing that allows payments in one batch.

Based on what we’ve learned so far, this should be a more cost-effective solution when buying multiple VPN accounts, which would also provide advanced management options and dedicated customer support.

It’s not yet clear which payment options will be available, but it seems NordVPN Teams will accept Visa, Mastercard, Amex, and Discover credit cards.

Early access

As NordVPN Teams enters a closed beta stage, with the initial public version set for release this year, sign up for early access is already available on the official website. All you need is an email address to receive further information.

Request a quote

You can already request a quote on the NordVPN Teams home page. The minimum number of accounts is 5, with no upper limit. Based on the options about the needs that you can tick, there will be certain offers for remote workers, monitoring and verifying geo-targeted campaign, in addition to the general network security and privacy.

The future of NordVPN

The announcement of NordVPM Teams means that NordVPN is moving towards an all-around security suite that will include a VPN, a password manager, and a file encryption system. It will be possible to purchase all three in an unprecedented bundle that will offer top-notch security and privacy.
